Title: Hydrothermal preparation of ZnO nanorods using zinc powder as precursor and their characterization
Abstract: ZnO nanorods were prepared by Gemini surfactants(C16H25(CH3)2N-(CH2)4-N(CH3)2C16H25·2Br) assisted hydrothermal oxidization of zinc metal powders. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and select area electron diffraction(SAED).The ZnO nanorods are hexagonal phase and single crystal with high crystallinity and purity.SEM showed that the nanorods are hexagonal prisms with the hexagonal pyramid and arranged in the form of flower-like or walllike assembly. The wall-like nanorods have more uniform size than the flower-like nanorods. The diameter of the former ranges from 60 to 200 nm,and that of the later ranges from 80 to 150 nm.
