Title: Impact of Electroacupuncture on Hippocampus cAMP for Aβ_(25~35) induced AD Rats
Abstract: Objective To observe the impacts of electroacupuncture on Aβ25~35-induced AD(Alzheimer′s diseases)rats. Methods According to the random number table, the male SD rats of 12 months old were divided into four groups, named a normal group,a sham-operation group,a model group and an electroacupuncture group,10 rats in each one.One injection of Aβ25~35 at condensed state was adopted on bilateral hippocampus to prepare AD rat model. In electroacupuncture group, bilateral Shenshu(BL23)and Neiguan(PC6)and Dazhui(GV14)were selected and stimulated with G6805-Ⅱ electroacupuncture apparatus,2 Hz,continuous wave,1 mA,for 2 min.The treatment was applied once a day,6 treatments a week.Totally,2 weeks were required. The radioimmunoassay was adopted to detect the changes in hippocampus cAMP in each group. Results In model group, the content of hippocampus cAMP was reduced apparently, indicating statistical significant difference as compared with sham-operation group(P0.01).The content of hippocampus cAMP in electroacupuncture group was improved significantly as compared with that in model group(P0.05).Conclusion Concerning to the mechanism, electroacupucnture improves the learning and memory ability of AD rats probably by improving the content of hippocampus cAMP.
