Abstract: This paper reviews the recent developments in Anglo-American economic geography study, focusing on interaction between 'new economic geography' pursued by mainstream ecumenicists, and on-going studies on economic geography by geographers. Some features of the new economic geography are discussed. This new direction may affect development of economic geography in the following ways: (1) integration among various academic groups may be promoted; (2) the influence of economic geography on policy making may be enhanced; (3) predicting results may increase; (4) new research schools may emerge.
