Title: Numerical simulation of dynamic response of ring-stiffened cylindrical shell subjected to underwater explosions
Abstract: A cylinder is the primary component of civilian and naval marine structures and often subjected to impulsive loads.Research on the structural damage effects and the shock environment of shipboard equipments due to underwater explosions is of great importance in improving the survivability and battle capacity of submarines. At first, the underwater explosion load and the suitable choice of the computation parameters of ABAQUS code on underwater explosion analysis are investigated. Then the numerical investigations on two kinds of ring-stiffened cylindrical shells,a short one and a long one, subjected to underwater explosions are presented. The numerical results of shock environment are consistent with the experimental data. Some conclusions on dynamic responses and shock environments are also obtained for the more complex cylinder with resilient mounting equipments and their base to underwater explosions.
