Methods In January 2012,in the 2012 census on the status of human resources of community health services,Lorenz Curve,Gini coefficient and Theil index were calculated on local population and geographic distribution, and Theil- L index was decomposed to analyze quantitatively the equity of human resource configuration of general practitioners( GP) in Guangdong. Results By Lorenz Curve, the equity of GPs and community nurses human resource configuration was high based on population distribution, low based on geographic, and that of GPs superior to nurses'. The Gini coefficients of GPs and community nurses based on population distribution were 0. 277,0. 311,respectively,those based on geographic were 0. 557,0. 583,respectively. The results of Theil- L index was evaluation were consistent with Gini coefficient, the contribution of inter- regional differences to total Theil index higher than that of regional differences. Conclusion The human resource configuration is inadequate in community health services. The equity of GPS configuration is superior to that of community nurses, and it is good based on population distribution, low based on geographic. Health administrative departments should fully consider the effects of rational allocation of nurses and geographic distribution on community health service accessibility,to narrow the differences in human resource distribution due to inter- regional difference in economic development and achieve ultimately the equitable distribution of human resources and rational use.Read More
