Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of the measurement of C-reactive protein in identifying the nature of hydrothoracic and ascitic fluid.Methods C-reactive protein and count of white blood cel1 of hyd...Objective To investigate the value of the measurement of C-reactive protein in identifying the nature of hydrothoracic and ascitic fluid.Methods C-reactive protein and count of white blood cel1 of hydrothoracic and ascitic fluid were determined in 90 patients and the data were analyzed by combining clinical diagnosis.Results According to the criteria used 42 patients were included in exudate group and 48 patients in transudate group.The levels of the CRP were significantly higher in exudate group than in transudate group(P0.05).Conclusion The measurement of CRP is helpful in identifying the nature of hydrothoracic and ascitic fluid in the diagnosis.Read More
