Title: Expression and significance of EGFR,VEGF in Non-Small-Cell lung cancer and the relationship of them with MVD
Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and microvessel density(MVD) in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) tissue, then analyze the relationship of these indices with the clinicopathologic features of NSCLC and the correlation with each other. Methods The immunohistochemical S-P method was used to detect the expressions of EGFR,VEGF and MVD in 136 cases of NSCLC and 28 cases of para-cancerous normal lung tissues. Results The positive rates of EGFR and VEGF,as well as MVD in NSCLC were dramatically higher than that in the para-cancerous normal lung tissues(P0.01).The expression of EGFR,VEGF and MVD were significantly correlated with TNM stage and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but were not correlated with the histological types of NSCLC(P0.05).The expression of VEGF was also correlated with grading of NSCLC(P0.05).Spearman correlation analysis indicated the expression of EGFR and VEGF was highly positive correlation in NSCLC(P0.01),VEGF expression was closely correlated with MVD(P0.01) but EGFR expression was not(P0.05).Conclusion The high expression of EGFR and VEGF in NSCLC plays important role in invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.VEGF accelerate the invasion and metastasis of NSCLC by augment the number of tumor's vessel.
