Title: Experimental Study on Soil Erosion Characteristics of Steep Slope on Loess Plateau
Abstract: The results of runoff scouring experiments show that average flow velocity of steep slope increased with the discharge of flow and slope gradient. The average silt content rate , the average sediment transport rate and the average sheer stress all increased when the discharge of flow increased, they changed in parabolic form with the increase of slope gradient and the critical gradient is between 21°and 24°. The relationship between the average sediment transport rate and the average sheer stress is linear. This research is useful to understand the erosion mechanism of steep slope.
