Title: Treatments of the patients with pertinacity anastomotic-stenosis after esophageal and/or gastric cardiac cancer with balloon foley catheter
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To determine the efficacy of microwave tissue coagulation combined with “Savary-Gilliard” rod dilation via endoscope and self-help dilation with balloon foley catheter in the treatment of pertinacity anastomotic-stenosis after esophageal and/or gastric cardiac cancer operation. METHODS: Fourty patients with pertinacity anastomotic-stenosis after esophageal and/or gastric cardiac cancer operation were performed the expanding therapy by microwave tissue coagulation combined with “Savary-Gilliard” rod dilation and self-help dilation with balloon foley catheter. Then, the improvement of anastomotic-stenosis was observed following the treatment. RESULTS: The effective rates (CR+PR) of dilation were 87.5%(35/40) in one month after treatment, 82.5%(33/40) in three month after the treatment (compared with the one month after the treatment, χ2=0.392,P=0.531, 70.0%(28/40) in six month after the treatment (compared with the one month after the treatment, χ2=3.660,P=0.056. CONCLUSION: The therapy of self-help dilation with balloon foley catheter is a good choice to prevent strait again after the treatment in microwave tissue coagulation combined with “Savary-Gilliard” rod dilation to anastomotic-stenosis after esophageal and/or gastric cardiac cancer operation.
