Title: Diagnostic Value of 64-slice Spiral CT Multi-planar Reconstruction for Acute Intestinal Obstruction
Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of 64-slice spiral CT multi-planar reconstruction(MPR) for the diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction. Methods CT data of 60 patients with pathologically confirmed acute intestinal obstruction were retrospectively analyzed. The images were collated, analyzed and reconstructed.Dynamic form of cross-sectional images were used for tracking intestinal tracts, determining the location of obstruction, and finally reconstructing cross-sectional images to obtain different angles of MPR images. Results Among the 60 patients,35(58.3%) had small intestinal obstruction and 25(41.7%) had colon obstruction. The causes of obstruction included simple obstruction(46 cases,76.7%) and strangulated obstruction(14 cases,23.3%).The operative outcome was consistent with the 64-slice spiral CT.The diagnostic accuracy was 100%.Conclusion The 64-slice spiral CT combined with MPR scanning technology can clearly show the lesion site and improve diagnostic capabilities of determining the causes and lesion range in patients with acute intestinal obstruction.
