Title: Clinical efficacy of alpha-thioctic acid combined with mecobalamin on tape 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of alpha-thioctic acid(LA)combined with mecobalamin in the treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods Totally 82 patients with DPN admitted to our hospital from April 2008 to December 2012 were selected and assigned into group A and group B in the application of conventional oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin.40 patients in group A were given LA(600 mg·d-1)combined with mecobalamin(1.0 mg·d-1),while the other 42 patients in group B were given mecobalamin(1.0 mg·d-1)for fifteen days. The symptom and nerve conduction velocity(NCV)were compared before and after treatment of the two groups. Results The results showed that total effectiveness of group A(85.0%)was superior to that of group B(69.0%)(P0.05);Meanwhile,both groups with sensory symptoms and NCV had improved(all P0.05),especially obviously in group A(P0.05);The side effects were not found in both groups. Conclusion LA combined mecobalamin treatment of DPN can effectively improve the patient's peripheral neuropathy symptoms and NCV,which can be promoted in clinical treatment.
