Title: Diagnostic value of measuring the blood flow volume of vertebral artery by color Doppler ultrasound in posterior circulation ischemia
Abstract: Objective To explore the diagnostic value of measuring blood flow volume by color Doppler ultrasound in posterior circulation ischemia(PCI). Methods Fifty-eight cases of PCI were recruited in experimental group and 50 cases without PCI were recruited in control group. The inner diameter and blood flow volume of vertebral artery were measured by ultrasonography in all the 118 cases. The 58 cases of PCI were examined with brain CTA. Results The blood flow volume in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group, both the blood flow volume and the inner diameter in the two groups were significantly difference(P0.01). In experimental group,44/58 had atherosclerotic plaques while 21/50 in control group, the incidence rates of the two groups were significantly difference(P0.05). Conclusion The inner diameter and the blood flow volume of the vertebral artery can be accurately measured by color Doppler ultrasound, and it can been seen as a noninvasive examination for PCI,which is direct, accurate, convenient and repeatable.
