Title: Patterns of Dominant Populations of Vegetation in Huliu River Wetland Nature Reserve,Shanxi
Abstract: Based on the data set from the field, the patterns of dominant populations of wetland vegetation in Huliu River Wetland Nature Reserve in Shanxi were studied by using dispersal index, clump intensity, mean crowding, patchiness index,Green's index, intensity index,χ2-test for fitting Poisson distribution and negative binomial distribution, respectively, and the cause involved with the pattern was analyzed. The results showed that the patterns of those populations were all clumped, however, they were different in clump intensity, among which the species with the biggest of clump intensity were Glycine soja,Typha minima, and Sagittaria sagittisolia, and the species with the smallest of clump intensity were Polygonum hydropiper,Alisma plantago-aquatica,and Cardamine lyrata, respectively. The result is not only related to the soil moisture closely, but also to their reproductive characteristics.Among 8 methods being used to measure the patterns, the application of variance/mean ratio and χ2-test for fitting Poisson distribution and negative binomial distribution together to pattern analysis were better than the others.
