Title: Synthesis of Cu/SBA-1 and its catalytic performance for benzene hydroxylation
Abstract: The mesoporous molecular sieve SBA-1 doped with Cu was directly synthesized by the sol-gel method under strongly acidic conditions, using cetyltriethylammonium bromide(CTEABr) as template and TEOS as silica source.Samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,FT-IR and N2 adsorption/desorption techniques. The XRD pattern showed the synthesized mesoporous materials had a well order cubic structure.Incorporated Cu species existed in the Si-O framework, revealed by FT-IR.The Cu/SBA-1 had high specific surface area(931m2.g-1) with grain size of 10-15 μm.The catalytic activity of Cu/SBA-1 for hydroxylation of benzene with hydrogen peroxide was tested.Cu/SBA-1 exhibited keen catalytic performance and benzene conversion of 48.5% was obtained with selectivity of 47% to phenol and 51% diphenols respectively.
