Title: Characteristic study about xenogenous implant model of ACHN human renal cell carcinoma in nude mice.
Abstract: Objective To develop xenogenous implant model of human ACHN renal cell carcinoma in nude mice. Methods ACHN renal cell carcinoma cells (2.0 10 6/0.2ml) were inoculated subcutaneously to nude mice back. The local tumor growth characteristic, tumor-take rate, lung metastasis rate, pathologic characteristic of tumor were examined. After 31 days, the mice were sacrificed. Cell proliferation index and apoptotic index were detected. Results Tumor-take rate and lung metastases rate were observed in 75% and 58.3% of nude mice respectively. Subcutaneous tumor cell proliferation index (PI) and apoptotic index (AI) were 54.84±11.39 and 1.75±0.83 respectively. Statistical analysis reveals an inverse correlation between the AI/PI and the tumors volume (r=-0.8332,P0.05). Pathologic characristics of xenogrft tumor was similar with human renal adeneocarcinoma. Conclusion This tumor model might be a useful tool in the researches on growth and metastasis of human renal cell carcinoma.
