Title: The Influence of Heat Treatment on the Density and Coefficient of Thermal Expansion of Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 System Glass-ceramics
Abstract: Transparent Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramics with low expansion were prepared by using SiO2,Al2O3,Li2CO3 as basic raw materials, adding a small amount of alkali earth, and also adding TiO2,ZrO2 as nucleating agent and melted at 1 580 ℃.The glass-ceramics were nucleated and crystallized at different temperature and for different time depending on the DTA data. The results show that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the samples rises first, and then decreases with increasing nucleation temperature, nucleation time, crystallization temperature or crystallization time, while the density of samples changes on contrary. The glass-ceramics of Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 system could be obtained by nucleating at 550 ℃ for 2h and crystallizing at 880 ℃ for 1h.This glass-ceramics was fully desified. The crystal size in the glass-ceramics was small and homogenous, and its main crystalline phase was β-quartz solid solution. The expansion coefficient of the glass-ceramics was 2.262×10-7/℃(0~900 ℃)and the density was 2.5 g/cm3.
