Title: Metallogenic characteristics and ore-prospecting suggestions of lead-zinc polymetallic deposits in southwestern Henan Province of China
Abstract: The southwestern Henan Province, central China, is an important polymetallic ore prospect area. According to the metallogenic geological conditions and typical features of the deposits in the area, three major types of deposit are summarized as follows: ① stratiform lead-zinc-silver deposits related to the Guandaokou Group carbonate rocks and Luanchuan Group clastic-carbonate rocks; ② lead-zinc-silver (copper) deposits related to Yanshanian granite (porphyry); and ③ zinc-copper (lead-silver-gold) deposits related to Paleozoic marine pyroclastic rocks. The three major types of deposit are those that will be surveyed in the future. In addition, 12 ore deposit (mineralization) concentration areas with good ore prospects have been outlined, which will provide a basis for future ore prospecting.
