Title: The value of CT in radio frequency ablation (RFA) of lung cancer
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the value of CT in radio frequency ablation (RFA) of lung cancer. Methods 13 cases of lung cancer were treated by CT-scanning at least three months after RFA to observe the short-term curative effect. Results In 4 cases with the lesion′s size smaller than 5cm, the short-term satisfactory rate RFA was 100%. In 9 cases with the lesion′s size larger than 5 cm, the short-term satisfactory rate of RFA was 67%. The main CT findings of ablated lesion were (1) The CT due of lesion decreased even lesion was liquefied and was not enhanced; (2) The lesion′s size was reduced or had no change, (3) If the lesion′s size was not reduced, the lesion was surrounded by sharp marginal enhancement on enhanced CT scan. Conclusion CT possesses high value in RFA of guiding percutaneous puncture monitoring treatment and evaluating the effect of treatment.
