Title: Solitary necrotic nodules of liver: 2 cases report and review of literature
Abstract: Objective To analyze the clinicopathologic features of solitary necrotic nodules of the liver and its differential diagnosis.Methods Two cases of solitary necrotic nodules of the liver were studied by morphological and special staining.Results The solitary necrotic nodules of the liver were composed of a central necrotic core and a peripheral hyaline fibrotic capsule with inflammatory cells.The central nodules were coagulative necrosis and there were no parenchymal cells and parasitic infection whthin necrosis.Conclusions Solitary necrotic nodules is a rare non-neoplastic lesion of the liver and diffcult to diagnose before operation.The differential diagnosis must be made from other focal lesions in the liver.
