Abstract:[Objective]The research aimed to study the antibacterial mechanism of Serratia marcescens and the effects of the temperature on the production of the red pigment.[Method] A bacterial strain producing ...[Objective]The research aimed to study the antibacterial mechanism of Serratia marcescens and the effects of the temperature on the production of the red pigment.[Method] A bacterial strain producing red pigment was isolated from soil,and its morphology,biochemical,physiological characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence were investigated.[Result] The strain was identified as Serratia marcescens.The red pigment was extracted by ethyl alcohol.The maximum production was obtained at 28 ℃,still,a little pigment were synthesized at 37 ℃.This result indicated that the strain was temperature-stability.The results of ultraviolet full wavelength scanning analysis and sheet chromatography showed that the red pigment might be prodigiosin.[Conclusion] Serratia marcescens could inhibit bacterial such as fusarium and bacillus cereus mycoides.Read More
