Title: Role of apoptosis of acinar cell and expression of bax in rats with acute pancreatitis
Abstract: Objective:To study the relationship between the pancreatic acinar cell apoptosis and the severity in rats with acute panreatitis. Methods:The different severity of acute pancreatitis model of SD rat was established by retrograde injection of different concentration of sodium deoxycholate into the common bile pancreatic duct. Rats (n=24) were divided at random into Control group, APⅠ group (0.75% dose group) and APⅡ group (1.5% group). The apoptosis of acinar cell in acute pancreatitisis was analysed by TUNEL,and the expression of Bax protein detected by immunohistochemical method and Western Blotting. Results:The apoptosis index was higher in APⅠ group than in APⅡ group (6.36±2.41 vs 2.34±1.15 in 6hr,P0.05), which was in correspondence with the degree of Bax expression. Conclusion:The degree of apoptosis is inversely related to the severity of acute pancreatitis, which suggests that apoptosis may be a teleologically beneficial response to acinar cell injury in general and especially in acute pancreatitis. The expression of Bax is positively related to the apoptosis index of acinar cell and negatively related to the degree of acute pancreatitis.
