Abstract:A hydropower station in northwest China is located in the middle part of the Northern Tianshan geosynclinal fold belt where is in the south of the Junggar-Northern Tianshan fold system.Based on the st...A hydropower station in northwest China is located in the middle part of the Northern Tianshan geosynclinal fold belt where is in the south of the Junggar-Northern Tianshan fold system.Based on the study of the related debris flow locations' formation conditions,the motion characteristics of debris flow are studied here such as flow velocity,flow discharge,impulsive force and so on.The study results show that in Xicha and Xueshui Valley,the debris flow has a certain size,while in Baqian and Bahou Valley,the debris flow's size is small and the frequency of occurrence is low,so the influence to the hydropower station is limited.In addition,for Xicha and Xueshui Valley,the debris flow's size in 10 or 50 years is not large relatively to the reservoir capacity,so the damage to the hydropower station is also small.Read More
