Title: Effects of temperature on the survival and total proteins content in Aphis gossypii Glover (F.) (Homoptera:Aphididae)
Abstract: In the lab,the survival rate and the total protein content of Aphis gossypii Glover were examined by means of variable temperature. The results were as follows:the death occurred in yellow type and green type only for 1 d treatments, and the survival rates at 10 and 30 ℃ were the lowest, which were 83.33% and 51.11%,respectively.Results suggested that with the stress time prolonged, the survival rates decreased at first, then increased slowly under the same temperature.Furthermore, the higher temperature benefited the yellow Aphids survival and the lower one increased the green Aphids survival. Finally, with the time increasing under the same tempature, the total protein content, showed an increasing tendency.and the values reached the tops at 10 and 30 ℃ for 30 min, which were 109.99 and 108.46 μg/mg.Beyond 30 min the content began to drop down but always above the control. At the meanwhile, there was no significant difference between the two colors Aphids. The total protein content of cotton aphids show the trend of partial kurtosis with the change of different time and temperature, which shows the optimal field of time and temperature on total protein content is 30-60 min and 28-32 ℃ and 7-12 ℃,respectively.
