Title: Influence of Smoking on KAP of Medical Professionals and Its Countermeasures
Abstract: Objective To study smoking behavior of medical professionals and its influence on smoking control ability. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 886 medical professionals selected from 6 hospitals in Beijing by systematic sampling. Results The knowing rate of smoking be one of the 3 most serious public health problems of non-smoking medical professionals was higher than that of smoking medical professionals. The knowing rate of smoking cessation method of smoking medical professionals was lower than that of non-smoking medical professionals. The rate of persuading patients to stopping smoking of smoking medical professionals was 70.1% and that of non-smoking medical professionals was 84.1%. Conclusion The smoking cessation attitude of non-smoking medical professionals is more active than that of smoking medical professionals. It is more effective to carry out health education by identifying whether medical professional is smoker or not.
