Title: Factors affecting prognosis of traumatic cerebellar haematoma
Abstract: Objective: To analyze factors affecting prognosis of traumatic cerebellar haematoma. Methods:Data of 17 cases of traumatic cerebellar haematoma that admitted to our hospital during January 2001 to December 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. Results:Ten patients had poor outcomes, who showed significant higher Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) and smaller haematoma size at admission than those had favorable outcomes(P both0.05).They also showed significant differences in location of haematoma, morphological characters of the brainstem cisterns and the fourth ventricle,as well as the presence of associated subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)(P all0.05).Conclusions:For patients with traumatic cerebellar haematoma, factors affecting outcomes were GCS score, size and location of haematoma, morphological characters of the brainstem cisterns and the fourth ventricle,as well as the presence of associated subarachnoid haemorrhage.
