Title: Blue - on - yellow Perimetry in Patients of the Suspected Visual Field Defect
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the application value of blue -on -yellow perimetry ( B/YP) in the suspected visual field defect eyes. Methods The B/YP were tested by Octopus 101 automated perimetry in 42 suspected visual field defect patients (42 eyes) with white - on -white perimetry ( W/ WP). The correlations of the visual field indices and the point - by - point threshold between the B/YP and W/WP were analyzed. Results Of the total 42 eyes with B/YP,three (7. 14% ) showed no visual field defect, and thirty - nine eyes(92.86% ) had visual field defect. No significant correlation was found in the visual field indices [mean sensitivity ( MS) , mean defect ( MD) and loss variance ( LV ) ] between B/YP and W/WP(r =0.2998 ,0.2048,0.0886, respectively). More than half of the point - by - point thresholds between B/YP and W/WP showed significant correlation. Conclusion The sensitivity of B/YP in detecting visual field defect was higher than that of W/WP. Follow - up was necessary in the patients with the location of visual field defects with B/YP in accordance with the location of the suspected visual field defect with W/WP.
