Title: Investigation on cognition and accept attitude of medical staff to HIV/AIDS in maternal and child health care hospital of a city
Abstract: Objective: To understand the cognition of maternal and child health care staff to HIV/AIDS knowledge and their acceptance levels to HIV- infected patients after carrying out the policy of Four Free and One and vigorous propagation of HIV / AIDS basic knowledge,provide a direction orientation for prevention and treatment of AIDS in clinical works. Methods: One hundred questionnaires were issued among medical staff in different departments of Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of a city in the first ten- day of March in 2012,an epidemiological investigation was performed,94 valid questionnaires were retrieved. Results: The average right rate of HIV / AIDS knowledge in randomly selected medical staff was 73. 2%,81. 1% of them made no discrimination of HIV- infected persons and the patients without HIV infection; the right rate in physicians was the highest. Conclusion: Among the maternal and child health care staff,physicians grasped HIV / AIDS knowledge firmly,the right rate was the highest; nurses and trainees answered the questions with relatively low correct rate; firm grasp of HIV / AIDS knowledge in physicians was helpful to propagation and education of HIV / AIDS knowledge; nurses and trainees didn't pay sufficient attention to HIV / AIDS; in the future,propagation and education of HIV / AIDS should be strengthened in medical colleges / universities to improve the enthusiasm of nurses and trainees to learn HIV / AIDS knowledge.
