Results Four operation methods were adopted,in which cyst removal were performed in 17,cyst removal plus cisternal opening in 21,cyst peritoneal shunt in 8,and stereotactic operation in 6. Upon follow up more than three months after aperation, the chief symptoms got improved in 86.5% of the patients, and CT scan showed that the size of cyst became smaller in 76.9% of the patients. Among the above operations, cyst removal plus cisternal opening gave the best results, with its symptoms getting improved in 90.5% and cysts shrunk in 80.7% .Conclusions An aggressive attitude should be adopted in the treatment of intracranial arachnoid cyst in children, and the operation of cyst removal plus cisternal opening is preferred.Read More
