Title: Analysis of hemodynamic changes in portal system after and before interventional therapy for portal hypertension
Abstract: Objective To investigate feasibility of multi-interventional therapy for hepatitis portal hypertension. Methods A total of 22 patients with hypersplenism of cirrhosis following hepatitis were studied before and after partial splenic artery embolization (PSAE), and 12 cirrhosis with portal hypertension were analysed pre- and post- transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic stent shunt (TIPSS) plus gastric coronary vein emblization (GCVE).The diameter and hemodynamics of portal venous system were evaluated by color Doppler flow image (CDFI).Results The diameter and mean velocity (Vm) with flow volume for portal vein was reduced obvious after PSAE ( P 0.05, P 0.01) while Vm and flow volume of portal venous system were increased and revealed high dynamic state after TIPSS and GCVE.Conclusion TIPSS plus GCVE can effectively prevent and control esophagus variceal bleeding, palliate high dynamic state of portal system circulation and reduce stress of portal vein if combined with PSAE.
