Title: High Resistance to PVX Induced by Transient Expression of Potato Virus X Coat Protein Gene Fragment
Abstract: With the aim of achieving plants with resistance to potato virus X(PVX),potato leaves with PVX infection symptoms in the fields were collected to extract the PVX CP cDNA,of which a conserved fragment was subcloned into pHellsgate12,an RNAi vector.Transient expression of the hp RNA-encoding vector via agroinfiltration was performed in model plant,N.benthamiana.Results showed that all of the 15 N.benthamiana plants infiltrated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens harboring the construct were resistant to PVX.The construct may be applied to generate transgenic plants with high resistance to PVX.
