Abstract:The removal effects of turbidity from Baixi Reservoir raw water with low-temperature and turbidity by polyaluminum chloride(PAC),polyferric sulfate(PFS) and the composites of both with poly-dimethyl-d...The removal effects of turbidity from Baixi Reservoir raw water with low-temperature and turbidity by polyaluminum chloride(PAC),polyferric sulfate(PFS) and the composites of both with poly-dimethyl-diallyl-ammonium chloride(PDMDAAC) were investigated using jar tests.The results indicate that under the condition of agitation intensity in the experiment,PFS is the best for treating the raw water with turbidity of 1.5 NTU and temperature of below 10 ℃.PFS dosage of 3 mg/L can efficiently decrease the turbidity to its lowest value of 0.2 NTU while PAC dosage of 2.5 mg/L can decrease the turbidity to its lowest value of 0.8 NTU.When the combined PFS/PDMDAAC composite coagulants are used,the lowest value of turbidity is 0.4 NTU,which is not as good as individual use of PFS.When the combined PAC/PDMDAAC composite coagulants are used,the removal effect of turbidity is not visible.As a result,PFS is more efficient in removal of turbidity from Baixi Reservoir raw water with low-temperature and turbidity,and PDMDAAC is not suitable to be used as coagulant aid.Read More
