Title: New Discovery of Carboniferous Stratigraphic Study in Yumen Area of Gansu Province
Abstract: In carbonifierous system of Yumen area of Gansu Province, the upper Carboniferous series is developed, which is a set of marine-terrestrial alternating deposits without coambed, including Yanghugon Formation and Taiyuau Formation, showing a unconformable contact with underlying Ordovician and overlying Neogene. Yanghugon Formation is first identified and the fossils of fusulinides and conodonts are newly discovered in the studied area. The conodont fossils are richer, by which Idiognathodus delicates_I. Primulus assemblage zone and the Streptognathudus elegantulus zone are made up. Based on the characters of the fossil assemblage, the particular stratigraphic positions and ages are determined.
