Title: Advances in studies on pharmacological effect of parthenolide
Abstract: Parthenolide is a sesquiterpene lactone derived from herb feverfew. As a traditional western medicine,it is widely used because of its immunoregulation efficacy and extensive pharmacological effects. It also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects in vivo and in vitro. The mechanisms of parthenolide are distinct in different cell lines. This article described the recently reported pharmacological effects of parthenolide, such as inhibition of the NF-κB and STAT3 signaling pathway,anti-oxidation and antitumor effects, and reviewed the molecular mechanisms. It will provide references for exploration and utilization of parthenolide.
