Title: Effect of nucleation and crystallization time on characteristics of glass ceramics from oil shale fly ash
Abstract: Glass ceramics was produced from oil shale fly ash as primary material by different treatments. The effects of nucleation time and crystallization time on the characteristics of glass ceramics were investigated by means of XRD and SEM.The results show that the content of the main crystalline phase anorthite decreased and the content of wollastonite of increased in nucleated glass with the crystallization time increased. With the increase of nucleation time, the spherical crystals in glass ceramics grew bigger.A large number of crystals are aggregated in glass ceramics when the crystallization time increased.Due to high compressive strength and good corrosion resistance, glass ceramics can be used as a substitute of natural stone and decorative materials.
