Title: On Lu Xun's Novels and Chinese Traditional Culture
Abstract: The cultural features of many of Lu Xun's novels start from questioning and subverting the regular content of Chinese feudalist culture, and hence his novels have strong historical cultural connotation and striking features of the times. As the selection and retrospection on an intrinsic cultural spirit,Lu Xun firstly summarizes vividly and criticizes strongly the man-eating culture, thus forming the core content of his novels which describe and comment on the tragic realistic existence, the national existential crisis, and the closed-down and stagnated cultural reality.Secondly,by referring to Chinese traditional culture as not-heart-touching and irrelevant,he points out its predicament and tragedy and condemns it for its not being able to redeem itself or the broad masses. In this way,by denying the capacity of love and redemption of Chinese traditional culture,Lu Xun wants to establish a more realistic and more intuitive cultural world where the soul of real man can be found and which is closely related to real ego-existence.
