Title: Cloning and Sequence Analysis of a Novel Dehydrin Gene(HbDHN2) from Hevea brasiliensis
Abstract: Dehydrins(DHNs) are a kind of highly hydrophilic plant proteins, which play a fundamental role in plant response and adaptation to drought, cold, salinity and other abiotic stress. A novel dehydrin gene, HbDHN2, was cloned from Hevea brasiliensis(rubber tree) by RT-PCR method and with the help of Transcriptome Shotgun Assembly(TSA) database of H. brasiliensis, and the amino acid sequence of HbDHN2 was analyzed. HbDHN2 contains 210 amino acid residues. Both HbDHN1 and HbDHN2 are SK2-type acidic dehydrins, and SKn-type dehydrins are preferentially induced by low temperature.In-depth study of the correlation between dehydrin and stress tolerance in rubber tree will be helpful for the breeding of new varieties of rubber tree.
