Abstract:Xuanwu Lake,Mochou Lake and Inner Qinhuai River in Nanjing City were investigated to assess the seasonal dynamics,impacting factors and eutrophication of water quality in urban wetlands by analyses of...Xuanwu Lake,Mochou Lake and Inner Qinhuai River in Nanjing City were investigated to assess the seasonal dynamics,impacting factors and eutrophication of water quality in urban wetlands by analyses of water samples from different sites and times.The water purification capability of different aquatic plants was also tested through potted experiment.Results indicated that TN,TP,BOD and COD are key indicators to reflect water pollution of urban wetlands.High TP content is the main cause for eutrophication of urban wetland water.The seasonal changes of the extent of water pollution are in the order:summerspringautumnwinter.The water quality in winter is much more stable than those of other seasons because of lower temperature.Comprehensive analysis of annual water quality revealed that the water quality of Inner Qinhuai River was in the state of serious eutrophication,Xuanwu lake was the best in water quality followed by Mochou Lake.Read More
