Title: Application of seismic sedimentology to sand body identification under different geological settings:A case study from the western slope and placanticline of Songliao Basin
Abstract: In order to identify the sand bodies and find lithologic reservoirs under different geological settings in the western slope and placanticline area of Songliao Basin, the study was taken based on the data of Saertu oil layer of Yaojia Formation in Yueliangpao area in the western slope and Gaotaizi oil layer of Qingshankou Formation in Anda area in the placanticline. The techniques of spectrum decomposition and strata slice were adopted to describe the distribution of subaqueous distributary channel sand bodies in delta front in the western slope and the geometry of sand bodies of sheet sand and river mouth bar in delta front in the placanticline area. The results practically guide the study on sedimentary microfacies and lithologic reservoir exploration. The research shows that the techniques correlated with seismic sedimentology are reliable methods to solve the identification of sand bodies and prediction of lithologic reservoirs in different geological settings in Songliao Basin.
