Methods 57 patients were diagnosed as lung cancer by pathology and scanned by spiral CT at the end inspiration and expiration with continuous volume scan mode. Expiration scans were scored at a lobar level for the areas of air-trapping. All the patients were performed pulmonary function tests ( PFT) . Results The small airways’functional indexes were negatively correlated with total air-trapping scores in FEF25% ( P 0. 05) ,FEF50% ( P 0. 01) and were positively correlated with RV ( P 0. 01) . But there was no correlation in FEV1( P 0. 05) ,FVC( P 0. 05) ,FEV1 /FVC( P 0. 05) . Conclusion There is a close correlation between air trapping and small airways’functional indexes in patients with lung cancer.Read More
