Title: Geological characteristics and genesis of main uranium deposits in Alligator River uranium district,Australia
Abstract: In Alligator River uranium district, western of Kombolgie basin, there are several worldclass unconformity-type uranium deposits.Jabiluka,Nabarlek and Ranger uranium deposits were controlled by faults, mainly hosted by Paleoproterozoic amphibolites-facies metamorphic rocks. The uranium minerals are mainly uraninite, pitchblende and associated with chlorite, sericite and hematite. The main mineralization of Jabiluka,Nabarlek and Ranger uranium deposits occurred in 1 680~1 640 Ma,and superimposed by three later mineralization stages which occurred in 1 360 Ma,1 100 Ma,900 Ma,respectively. The ore-forming fluid is mainly basinal fluid, and the metallogenic material is probably from uranium-bearing basinal elastics or minerals in metamorphic basement.
