Title: Mental Health of Officers and Soldiers in the Army Corps and Associated Logistics Army
Abstract: Objective To analyze the mental health state of 2466 officers and soldiers and supply reference for mental intervention.Methods A total of 1370 servicemen in an army corps and 1096 servicemen in an associated logistics army were tested with Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90).Results The total SCL-90 score,positive item number,somatization,depression,hostility and phobia were higher and the interpersonal relationship sensitiveness was lower in the servicemen in the army corps than those in the associated logistics army.The somatization was higher in the officers and high-grade soldiers in the army corps than that in associated logistics army.The total SCL-90 score,positive item number,somatization and depression were higher in the compulsory soldiers in the army corps than those in the associated logistics army.The abnormity ratio in SCL-90 mental test was 14.45% and 9.94%(P0.01),and the neurosis incidence was 2.33% and 1.92%(P0.05) in the army corps and associated logistics army respectively.Conclusion The mental health state of army corps servicemen are worse than that of the associated logistics army.The mental health status of the servicemen relates with the characteristics of the army,and the service and official rank.The incidence of neurosis has no correlation with the characteristics of the army.
