Methods Incorporation of the drug into pellets was performed by centrifugal granulation technology, using the powder layering theory, and then the pellets were coated with EUDRAGIT by fluid-bed coating method to prepare a 12 h sustained-release preparation. Its in-vitro release was compared with that of the matrix sustained release preparations available in the market. Results The in-vitro release profile of glipizide film-controlled sustained-release pellets fitted the first-order model. Burst drug release effect was obvious for matrix sustained release pellets. Conclusions The glipizide film-controlled sustained-release pellets were successfully prepared and the in-vitro drug release conformed to the requirements of the sustained-release formulation.Read More
