Title: Spatial Distribution and Antioxidant Activity of Coleus Forskohlii Transplanted in Tongcheng
Abstract: Objective This study investigated spatial distribution of isoforskolin and antioxidant activity of Coleus forskohlii. Method HPLC-ELSD was used to analyze the content of isoforskolin in roots, rhizome, stem, and leaves, respectively. DPPH and OH· radical-scavenging activity and Fe2 +chelating abilities were tested by UV spectrophotometry. Result Isoforskolin was distributed mainly in root and rhizome, and slightly in stem. No isoforskolin was found in flowers and leaves. The extracts of root, rhizome, and stem showed high antioxidative activity, especially in root extracts. Conclusion Both distribution of isoforskolin contents and antioxidative activity decreased following the order root rhizome stem. These results provide scientific basises for improving cultivation and utilization of the valuable medicinal plant.
