Title: Contrastive Analysis of Nounce Words in English and Chinese
Abstract: The great vitality of a certain language can be seen in the increasing enlargement of its vocabulary. Nonce words make up a considerable proportion in both English and Chinese. The article , based on the definition of nonce word by Peter Newmark and zero-deviation theory, compares English with Chinese in the formation of nounce word and analyzes its common core ,the deviation of language system, in both languages. The article also uses correlation theory and concludes that English and Chinese have the same process of recognition of nonce words, the first-second-comprehensive reading mode.
