Title: Application of Acupoint Pressing to the Prevention of Nausea and Vomiting During Emergency Cesarean Section
Abstract: Objective To investigate the preventive effect of acupoint pressing on nausea and vomiting during emergency cesarean section.Method Three hundred parturients receiving emergency cesarean section were randomly allocated to observation and control groups,150 cases each.The control group received routine nursing care and the observation group,pressing at points Neiguan(PC6) and Hegu(LI4) in addition to intraoperative routine nursing care.The incidences of nausea and vomiting were compared between the two groups of parturients.Result The incidences of nausea and vomiting decreased markedly in the observation group after acupoint pressing and there was a statistically significant difference as compared with the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion Acupoint pressing has a certain preventive effect on nausea and vomiting during emergency cesarean section.
