Title: Three-Dimensional Numerical Simulation of Two-Phase Turbulent Flow in Nozzle of Diesel Engines
Abstract: The cavitating flow in a nozzle hole is thought to be a very important factor to affect diesel fuel spray characteristics. The parametric and 3D solid modeling software for the flow region of nozzle was developed in this paper.Afterwards the multi-dimensional two-phase mathematical model of cavitating nozzle flow was put forward for the developed cavitating flow. The holes exit boundary of the computational area was extended to outside the nozzle holes for the first time to decrease the effect of the nozzle holes exit on the inside of computational area. The 3D numerical simulation of cavitating two-phase and turbulent flow in nozzle holes of a vertical multi-hole injector was fulfilled. Results show that primary pressure drop of flow in the nozzle focuses at the holes inlet, where cavitation phenomena certainly occur for sharp-edged corner and extend to holes exit to disturb the flow and bring the initial atomizing.
