Title: Renal perfusion imaging with multi-slice spiral CT: an experimental study
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the application of multi-slice spiral CT perfusion imaging in the kidney and the influence of various injection rate on perfusion parameters. Methods Thirty-six health rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (A, B, C), the dose of contrast agent were 2 ml/kg (300 mgI/ml ), the injection flow rate in each group were 1ml/s, 2ml/s, and 3ml/s respectively to make a quantitative analysis for the parameter of renal perfusion imaging. Results Every perfusion parameter was no significant difference not only between group A and group B, but also between group B and group C (P 0.05 ), but there was a significant difference between group A and group C (P0.05). Perfusion parameters were significant difference in cortex and medulla of the same kidney (P0.05). Conclusion Multi-slice spiral CT can provide quantitative analysis to renal blood perfusion, but injection flow rate influence the perfusion parameters.
