Title: The Model Establishment and Dynamics Simulation of Controlled Radial Bogies for Tilting Trains
Abstract: The dynamics model of a tilting car system is established. The numerical simulation method is used to study the dynamics performance of radial bogies when the tilting train negotiates a curve. The simulation results show that, when a tilting train negotiates a curve at a speed 30% higher than a normal train, the application of forced steering bogies can effectively reduce the wheel-rail wear and improve the dynamics performance, the actively controlled radial bogie can have the similar effect as the forced steering radial bogie, the curve negotiation performances of both bogies above are better than those of the non-steering and the self-steering bogies, and they have fairly high non-linear critical speed. The controlled radial bogie can conveniently ajust the radial gain, and has the same performance as the self-steering radial bogie when the actuator is unloaded.
