Title: Development of 5-Axis NC Machining Simulator
Abstract: Complex 5-axis NC machining often needs point simulator,which powerfully aims at some problems,to direct actual production and to avoid machining failures derived from improper tool selection or unsuitable tool path planning.As a result the authors use VBA in Auto CAD platform to successfully develop a 5-axis NC machining simulator in view of the needs of 5-axis NC machining for a whole centrifugal impeller.The system can flexibly receive two kinds of control information namely tool location data and standard NC codes,quickly and dynamically generate the corresponding tool paths figure.Thus the system provides the clearest evaluation basis for tool geometric parameters planning of 5-axis NC machining for parts of whole centrifugal impellers type.At last an example application presents that the 5-axis NC machining point simulator not only possesses important significance for directing actual production but also supplies strong means to avoid tool interference.
