Title: Free Myocutaneous Flap Combined with Limited Internal Fixation to Repair the Defect of Bone Caused by Chronic Infection
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the clinical application of free myocutaneous flap with blood vessel,local bone grafting combined with limited internal fixation in the treatment of infected nonunion of bone or defect of bone plus defect of soft tissue.Methods: Eighteen cases of infected bone defect with soft tissue defect and bone exposed in shin,humerus,thigh-bone,metacarpal bone,and radius were treated surgically using free myocutaneous flap with blood vessel,bone grafting or free fibula transplantation with blood vessel combine proper internal fixation.Results: Survival of flaps and union of bone were acquired in 16 cases after the surgery,meanwhile,2 cases with survived flaps remained bone defect received a second surgery.Conclusion: It is the only effective way of using free myocutaneous flap combines limited internal fixation to repair the infected defect of bone with defect of soft tissue.
